Multiple drivers will have to answer to charges after getting pulled over by Chatham-Kent OPP for allegedly travelling well above the speed limit.
On November 15 around 12:40 p.m., OPP pulled over a vehicle on Communication Road in Chatham-Kent after it was clocked going 144 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone.
As a result, the 21-year-old Chatham driver was handed a stunt driving charge.
On November 19, shortly before 2 p.m., a vehicle was stopped in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent allegedly travelling nearly 60 kilometres over the speed limit.
According to OPP, the driver was found going 158 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.
The 29-year-old from Brampton was charged with stunt driving.
Elsewhere, a 31-year-old from Windsor learned the hard way that you shouldn't speed, especially if you're not supposed to be behind the wheel in the first place.
Just before noon on November 20, an OPP officer pulled over a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the 401 in Chatham-Kent that was caught allegedly travelling 71 kilometres over the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr.
In addition to a stunt driving charge, the officer charged the driver with two counts of driving while under suspension.
Also in the early hours of November 20, OPP stopped a vehicle on the eastbound 401 around 1:15 a.m. that was allegedly caught travelling 132 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.
The 31-year-old from Kitchener was charged with speeding in addition to being charged with being a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration.
