Pair of events to draw visitors to Blenheim

Two popular events will take over Blenheim this Saturday, June 24.

Classic cars will be on display in on Talbot Street for the 11th annual Blenheim Classics Auto Show, while Art in the Park will be taking place down the street at Talbot Trail Place.

"Entrance is donation of a canned good or $5 per vehicle. All donations will go towards the Blenheim Community Food Bank," said Alan DeLaet with the car show. "It is open for unmodified 1988 and older vehicles. We have 150 downtown exhibition spots, first come first serve."

The family-friendly event includes a colouring contest and a race track for the kids. DeLaet added that there will be some special displays, including a fire truck from Chatham-Kent Fire Station #18.

"We also have a double-decker bus being supplied by Frank Thompson and Family. Also Frank Thompson and Family are going to have a surprised show car there that will be revealed after 9 o'clock. And, we will also have the oldest, and youngest, by serial number, Grey Dorts, known to exist," DeLaet said.

You can pre-register in advance at https://www.blenheimclassicsautoshow.com/.

Just down the street, over 75 artists, creators, and makers will be selling their handmade goods at Art in the Park.

"We have over 75 very talented, artists, makers, and creators. So everything has to be handmade," said Art in the Park organizer Debbie Brush. "There are some food vendors there as well, and we also have a food truck that will be on location.

Art in the Park is put on the Blenheim Rotary Club, and a full list of vendors can be found on their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/events/1284547545438107.

Both events run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. rain or shine.
