The United Way of Chatham-Kent has announced an Interim CEO.
The Board of Directors have appointed Maureen Geddes as the agency's Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Geddes replaces former CEO Barbara Palace who resigned from her position two weeks ago for personal reasons.
"The United Way in Chatham-Kent is an organization that’s very close to my heart,” said Geddes. "I’m honoured to continue the good work we do in the community and to gear up for a busy and exciting season.”
Maureen joined the United Way Board of Directors in Chatham-Kent in June 2023.
The Board said Maureen has a proven track record of advocacy and leadership throughout Chatham-Kent and brings a wealth of experience and innovation in social enterprise and community development.
“Maureen’s integrity, knowledge of the United Way in Chatham-Kent and her robust scope of volunteer and committee work with nonprofits in our community make her the ideal person to steward the organization through this next chapter. We’re so glad she’s on board!” said acting president of the United Way of CK Board of Directors Chris Appleton.
It's unknown how long the search for a new CEO will take.
