Dover Township man charged with fraud

Chatham-Kent police made an arrest in a fraud investigation that began in February.

On February 3, police started an investigation in Wallaceburg regarding a rental opportunity in Sarnia. Officers determined that a suspect accepted money to rent the Sarnia property but then failed to follow through with the agreement or return the money. When the man couldn't be found, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to an unrelated matter on Dover Centre Line. While there the attending officer located the fraud suspect, and he was arrested.

A 32-year-old Dover Township man was charged with fraud under $5,000 and released with a December 11 court date.
