Chatham-Kent man connected to a string of break-ins targeting lotto tickets

It looks like a 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man's luck has run out as he has been arrested in connection with a series of break-and-enter investigations.

Chatham-Kent police said the incidents all took place in Chatham over the past month and that lottery tickets were the primary target.

Police said businesses on Lacroix Street, St. Clair Street, Keil Drive South, Grand Avenue East, Indian Creek Road, and National Road in Chatham were all affected by the break-ins, which took place between November 28 and December 19.

The accused has been charged with seven counts of break-and-enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, and one count of mischief.

He was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Police said they worked with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation during their investigation and will not be releasing the names of the affected businesses at this time.
