Lawnmower, booze, cash stolen during long weekend break-ins
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a pair of break-ins from the holiday weekend and they could use your help to solve them.
Police said they were called to a garage on Delaware Avenue in Chatham at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday and learned someone had broken in there before they took off with a John Deere zero-turn lawn tractor worth about $3,500.
In a second case on Sunday, officers were called to a restaurant in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham where someone had smashed some glass to get inside.
Whoever broke in there stole some beer and liquor worth about $500 and also took off with about $780 in cash.
Both of those break-ins are still under investigation and if you have any information that could help solve them, you should contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

Two arrests on outstanding warrants
Chatham-Kent police were able to cross off two more names from their wanted list after making a pair of arrests on Canada Day.
Officers caught up with a 33-year-old Walpole Island man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg at 8 a.m. Monday who was wanted in connection with an assault investigation from June.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters pending a bail hearing and is currently charged with assault causing bodily harm.
In the second case, officers picked up a 40-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for allegedly skipping court in connection with a break-and-enter investigation from September 2020.
Officers found him on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg just after 2:30 p.m. Monday and took him back to police headquarters where he was also set to be held pending a bail hearing.
He is currently charged with three counts of failing to attend court along with one count each of break-and-enter and possession of stolen property.
