Civic Holiday closures across CK

The Civic Holiday will cause closures across Chatham-Kent on Monday, August 5.

Municipal offices and most services including housing, employment and social services, and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed. Emergency services are accessible by calling 911.

CK Public Health will be shut on Monday and services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance's (CKHA) Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered. Hemodialysis Care will be open as will the hospitals' Emergency Departments. Anyone with a scheduled appointment is advised that staff will be available for patients to attend them.

Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. All Leaf and Yard Depots and Transfer stations will be closed.

Libraries, museums, galleries, and theatres will be closed with the exception of the "A-Musing Summer Camp - Storybook Adventurers" at the Chatham Cultural Centre. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Parents and guardians are advised that they should enter the Studio Two doors from the William Street parking lot.

Local pools are open on Monday. Arenas are closed, except for the Blenheim and Thames Campus Arenas which are open for scheduled rentals.

Those who take the bus will have to find alternate transportation on Monday as all Ride CK Transit services won't be operating.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
