'Build for the Kids' flying to $500K fundraising finish line with a flurry of fall events

Mark your calendars Chatham-Kent, your October is about to fill up.

The Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCF-CK) has launched their 'Build for the Kids' capital campaign to raise the final amount needed for the new treatment centre.

With ground breaking on the 58,000-square-foot build this past July, the CTCF-CK announced they only had $500,000 more to raise to reach their $10 million goal.

"We had the quiet phase of the campaign, this last half a million dollars is where the community can stand up and go this is important to us," said Foundation President Mike Genge.

So while the Ontario government provided the money for the building, this amount will be used for the much needed equipment to fill it.

And to do that the foundation has planned, several fundraising opportunities. Including selling t-shirts, accepting online donations, a butterfly purchase program which will run in schools and business across Chatham-Kent starting late September, and finally 11 events throughout Chatham-Kent from October 7th to 20th.

"The 'Build for the Kids' campaign is a testament to the strength and generosity of our community," said Genge. "Together, we can create a facility that meets the needs of our children today and for generations to come."

Genge said there will be something for everyone with a lot of variety and locations of events.
