Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is holding a car seat and fingerprint event this September.
The event will run on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kingston Park rain or shine.
Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers and Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance invite everyone down to the clinic, and those with car seats can have them inspected and/or installed to ensure everything is good to go.
"Car seats change regularly, so they are going to inspect it to make sure it's proper to use it, they are going to inspect it to make sure it's installed correctly and then there is the fingerprinting. Chatham police will be there to help with that," said Executive Board Member of Chatham Kent Crime Stoppers Bill Isaacs.
"And the nice thing about these is they are electronic fingerprints. So after the children get fingerprinted the parents will be given a stick with all those fingerprints electronically on that stick so they can put it in a safe place."
In addition to the fingerprinting and car seat checks, there will be food trucks, have your face painted, meet first responders, and tour the emergency vehicles.
"We are going to make it a real family event. We are going to have the police there, the fire and rescue, we are going to have EMS there and the nice thing about having them there is they can answer any questions the parents might have on child safety," said Isaacs.
