Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two people following a series of break-and-enters in Leamington.
The pair is believed to be connected to a series of bunkhouse break-ins reported between November 11 and November 25.
Shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday, members of the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop on Erie Street North. It turned out that the vehicle was allegedly stolen.
The two men inside the vehicle were arrested. A search of the vehicle found credit cards and various forms of personal identification.
A 35-year-old Leamington man is charged with nine counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, three counts of disguise with intent to commit an offence, two counts of break-and-enter to commit an offence, and one count apiece of possession of stolen property above $5,000, possession below $5,000, and possession of an identity document.
A 43-year-old Leamington man is charged with break-and-enter, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and possession of an identity document.
The charges have not been proven in court. Both men were held pending a bail hearing in a Windsor court.
