Police investigating possible hate crime
Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they investigate some hate-motivated graffiti that was sprayed on a shed at a community garden in Chatham.
Police said a citizen notified officers about the graffiti after going out for a walk in the area of 325 Grand Avenue East at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
It's believed the shed was spraypainted sometime over the weekend and the incident is under investigation.

Vehicle towed after driver flees from police
Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a driver allegedly failed to stop for officers in Wallaceburg.
CK police said an officer on general patrol tried to pull the vehicle over on Murray Street in Wallaceburg at around 7:30 p.m. Monday because it was driving erratically, but instead of stopping, the driver took off.
Police said they found the truck later and learned that it had improper licence plates.
It was towed from the scene and the incident is still under investigation.

Caller tips off police to impaired driver
A 42-year-old man from Woodstock is facing a pair of impaired driving charges after OPP stopped his vehicle on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent Monday afternoon.
Provincial Police said they stopped the vehicle in the westbound lanes near Howard Road after getting a tip about a possible impaired driver at around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers said the accused was charged with impaired driving (over 80) and driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
The man's vehicle was taken away for seven days and his driver's license was suspended for 90 days as a result of the charges.
He is set to appear in court in January.
OPP are also thanking the individual who contacted police to report the incident.

Chatham-Kent police are issuing a big thank-you to everyone who helped out with their annual holiday toy donation drive.
Police said in a social media post that the contributions "have brought joy to countless children this holiday season and exemplify the spirit of giving in our community."
