Brampton man charged with assaulting CK police officer

A Brampton man is facing charges after reportedly showing up somewhere he wasn't wanted and refusing to go away.

Police said they were called to a Grand Avenue West address in Chatham at around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. It was reported that the 26-year-old man was at this address, although he was listed as an "unwanted person."

According to police, when officers arrived the man became aggressive and he assaulted one of them.

The officer was not injured.

The man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Driving mistake leads to drug charges

A Chatham man is facing consequences after driving at night without lights.

CK police said the 27-year-old was seen driving an ATV on Prince Albert Road at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday without lights. Officers arrested the man when he failed to stop for them.

"During the stop Chatham-Kent police officers located drugs," a police media release said.

The man has been charged with drug possession. He was released from police custody with a March 6 court date.

CK Police make multiple warrant arrests

Just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, CK police took custody of a 49-year-old Windsor man.

The man was brought to the Chatham-Kent Courthouse from the South West Detention Centre by a judge's order. He was wanted by CK police on an outstanding warrant.

Slightly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to a Vanier Drive address in Chatham for a domestic dispute.

When they arrived, police said they found a 19-year-old St. Thomas woman who was wanted on a catch-and-release warrant.

She was arrested and released with a February 10 court date.

Just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, CK police arrested a 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman in Chatham.

Police said she was located at a Third Street address and that she was wanted for failing to attend court and breaching her probation.

The woman was taken into police custody and held for bail.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
