Chatham-Kent Public Health has reported another measles exposure in Tilbury.
Public health officials said it was identified at the Tilbury Walk-In Clinic at 15 Mill Street East on Friday, April 4, 2025, between 2:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
If you were present at that location during that time period and are not up-to-date with your vaccinations, CK Public Health is urging you to call 519-352-7270 ext: 5902.
Health officials in Essex County also identified a new exposure point at the emergency department at Erie Shores Healthcare. Those who were there from 8:35 a.m. last Thursday to 12:20 a.m. last Friday may have been exposed.
Officials also want you to call healthcare providers, emergency departments, or walk-in clinics ahead of time if you need to visit them and tell them you may have had an exposure and are experiencing measles symptoms.
Symptoms can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes. A red rash appears on the face three to seven days after the start of symptoms, and it may progress down the body.
CK Public Health is urging individuals to get up-to-date with vaccines to protect them from the disease.
The health unit also noted that a majority of individuals are vaccinated against measles, adding that the risk of contracting measles remains small to the broader community.
