Consensual fight ends with alleged mischief
A 30-year-old Thamesville man is facing a mischief charge after he allegedly took out his frustration on a vehicle after a planned fight northeast of Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they got involved when officers were called to the residence in Camden Township on Tuesday, April 22 for an assault investigation.
Police said they learned that two men had been texting back and forth when things escalated to the point where they organized a fight at a private residence.
Officers said when the fight took place, both of the men involved were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
Police said after the fight was over, one of the men was frustrated and decided to take out his anger on the other man's vehicle by smashing the diver-side mirror and standing on the vehicle's roof.
A 30-year-old Thamesville man turned himself in to police at around 11:45 a.m. on Monday and he was charged with mischief before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Surveillance video clears up Wallaceburg incident
A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with police after some surveillance camera footage of a crash he was involved in showed a different story than the one he told police.
Chatham-Kent police said they got a call about a domestic disturbance on James Street in Wallaceburg at around 5:30 p.m. Monday where a man reported that someone had tried to run him over, which then resulted in the vehicle hitting a nearby building.
Police said after they reviewed the video surveillance, though, they learned that the man who called in the report was a passenger in the vehicle when it reversed into the building and then took off running.
Officers said they couldn't track the man down until Walpole Island Police picked him up on Monday.
The man was arrested on a warrant for breaching his release conditions and he was later released with a future court date.

Man accused of stealing bikes arrested for skipping court
A man who was previously arrested and charged in connection with some bike thefts from Ursuline College Chatham is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly skipped a scheduled court appearance.
Chatham-Kent police said the man was initially arrested in October last year and charged with theft after he was seen using bolt cutters to steal bicycles from the school's courtyard.
Police said at the time, they also found the man nearby on one of the stolen bikes. Officers also found some bolt cutters and a debit card on him that wasn't issued in his name.
The man was processed at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and then later released with a scheduled court date.
A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for court, but police found him on Monday and arrested him.
He was later released with conditions and another court date.
