Residents of Chatham-Kent are being asked to share their feedback on a potential layout for the proposed Dream Field project.
The municipality's first accessible baseball diamond has been in the works since January 2024, with plans to construct it between Fergie Jenkins Field and the Chatham Memorial Arena.
The site is currently home to the Kiwanis Stadium soccer field, meaning the pitch would need to be relocated.
The current design also has the diamond replacing one-third of the arena's parking. Several parking spots would be added along Tweedsmuir Avenue to make up for the loss of parking spaces.
According to the municipality, this location was chosen for several reasons. This included access to storm, sanitary, water, and electrical infrastructure, existing parking, and overall availability.
Several members of Chatham-Kent's council helped fund the design phase of the project. Mayor Darrin Canniff and Councillors Marjorie Crew, Brock McGregor, and Conor Allin kicked in around $35,000 through their Ward Funds.
People can share their thoughts on the design on the Lets Talk Chatham-Kent website.
