Four men face charges in one of Canada's biggest ever fentanyl busts.
London police say over 34 kilograms (kg) of fentanyl, worth nearly $2.8 million, were recently seized from six residences in London, Hamilton, and North York.
Nearly five kg of crystal meth and 474 grams of cocaine were also seized.
“(This) announcement highlights the critical importance of strong enforcement and community collaboration in addressing the opioid crisis and associated violence in our community,” said London Police Chief Thai Truong.
Police also seized four handguns, one semi-automatic pistol, extended capacity magazines and drum magazines, a silencer, ammunition, over $250,000 in cash, and six vehicles, two of which being stolen.
Four men, two from Toronto and two from London, have been charged with three counts of possessing an illegal substance and one count of producing a substance. They each also face multiple firearm related charges.
This seizure comes roughly seven months after RCMP in British Columbia found 54 kg of fentanyl in what they called the country's biggest "drug super lab."
