Dresden Ex opens Friday

A popular summer event opens its gates to the public this weekend.

The Dresden Exhibition kicks off Friday, July 25 with the exhibit building opening at 4:30 p.m. and the Truck and Tractor Pull at 6:30 p.m.

"It is $20 a ticket, and 10 and under are free," said Alicia VanEsse with the Dresden Agricultural Society. "We have so many trucks and tractors pulling down the track, the track looks great and ready to go. We are just so excited to have them back on our grounds again."

Saturday afternoon will feature a new event, the Monster Madness Monster Trucks.

"We're excited to have them here in Dresden, this is something new for all of us to experience," said VanEsse. "There are two shows, one starts at 1 p.m. and the other one will start at 3:30 p.m. With that, you have an opportunity to ride in a monster truck as well."

Tickets for that are $25 each, and $10 for kids 12 and under. But VanEsse adds that there are other activities planned for Saturday.

"At 10 a.m., we have a soap box derby going on, there's a cattle show going on. I have about 15 interactive fun games, mazes, climbing walls, so many things that are all free to the public. You can come on out and enjoy everything," said VanEsse.

And the fun continues on Sunday with Kids Day at Dresden Raceway.

"Post time is 1 o'clock. If you're a kid, walk in the door you get a ticket, there are bikes that you can put your name in for a draw, you get a free hot dog to pop and a freezie, and I have a petting zoo. "
