Bail Violations

Multiple charges have been laid against a 35-year-old man for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.

Chatham-Kent police said officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home in Chatham shortly before 3 a.m. on Wednesday and discovered that the accused was subject to several non-communication and release conditions.

Police alleged that the individual had repeatedly been attending the residence despite having multiple court-ordered conditions, including not being in direct or indirect contact with specific individuals, not to be within 100 metres of any place where the person is known to live and work, or attend school, except when required for official court appearances, and to not possess weapons or explosive substances, or anything designed to be used or intended for use to cause death or injury or to threaten or intimidate any person.

Police said a weapon was found during his arrest, which contravened the weapons conditions of his probation order.

The suspect has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling, three counts of failing to comply with probation orders, and two counts of failing to comply with bail conditions.
