A collection of Chatham-Kent breweries has been named a finalist for the Culinary and Agritourism Award of Excellence at the 2025 Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence.
The award is presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) and recognizes a business, festival, or organization that delivers authentic, locally inspired culinary or agritourism experiences that connect visitors to a place through food and drink.
BrewFest CK, made up of Sons of Kent Brewing, Bayside Brewing, Red Barn Brewing Company, and Glasstown Brewing Company, was founded in 2022 and continues to grow each year.
"This recognition is shared by all four breweries who come together to make BrewFest CK possible," said the BrewFest CK Committee. "It's proof that when independent breweries and local partners collaborate, we can create something truly special for our community and for Ontario's tourism landscape."
This year's events saw more than 3,500 visitors to the Chatham-Kent area to enjoy the area's breweries, hospitality, music, and local flavour.
During every event, the BrewFest CK team raises money for charitable organizations. To date, over $25,000 has been donated to local causes.
In 2025, events raised $10,000 for the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent, Handy Bros. Heroes, Erieau Yacht Club (Kids Program) and Erieau Community Association, and Community Living Wallaceburg.
Plans are already underway for events in 2026, which will mark the fifth anniversary of BrewFest CK.
The Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala will take place on October 29 in Ottawa.
