The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation has raised more than $182,000 to support hospice care for local families, surpassing last year's total of $133,000.
The money was raised at its 8th Annual Benefit Gala last week that included a $30,000 night-of donation, to fund vital end-of-life care services in Chatham-Kent.
Officials said the event was sold out and featured gourmet dining, exciting auction experiences, and an emotional account from a local family sharing their journey with Chatham-Kent Hospice.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us and to our generous sponsors,” said Marian Redford, Chair of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board of Directors. “Your incredible support ensures that local families continue to receive vital residential hospice care, grief support, and care navigation at no cost to them."
The night also had a Golden Ticket raffle, which offered 100 lucky guests the chance to win an exclusive experience from the silent auction and two tickets to next year’s Gala.
Lisa Clement won a suite at a Windsor Spitfires game and Deb Gillier won white gold earrings with natural Canadian diamonds.
All proceeds from the Gala will directly support the operations at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, ensuring that families have access to compassionate end-of-life care, at no cost, during their most difficult times.
