A glass company in Chatham is looking to build a new manufacturing and warehousing facility if it gets a tax break from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent (CK).
If the incentive is approved by CK's council on Monday night, Kent-Erie Glass and Lock Inc. will build the $2.4 million facility at 800 Junction Ave in east Chatham.
The 15,000 sq. ft. project is eligible under the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for a grant equal to 100 per cent of the new municipal property taxes levied over the next five years.
Grant amounts are determined following completion of the project, reassessment by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), and conclusion of appeals to the Assessment Review Board (ARB).
The company said it has been doing projects from London to Windsor for 30 years.
