Neglected Cat Has Leg Amputated

The London Humane Society is searching for a home for Samarah the cat, who lost a leg due to neglect.

Officials say the cat had fallen off her owner's balcony and fracture her front right leg. The leg was splinted and bandaged and the owner was to return to the vet two weeks later for care.

The owner did not return to the vet and waited nearly two months to bring the cat in again. By that time, the cat's skin and leg was dying and officials had to amputate the limb.

Samarah was surrendered to the humane society and has recovered. Officials are hoping to find her a home for the holidays.

The humane society says if the cat had been properly cared for, it would still have all four limbs.
