Winter Storm On Its Way

If your holiday visiting takes you on the road this weekend, Environment Canada says driving could get tricky on Saturday.

The weather office predicts a significant winter storm will track across the region tomorrow into Sunday. It's expected to start as snow on Saturday morning, mixing with freezing rain as the temperature rises and then falling as just rain. Significant snow amounts are possible over central and eastern Ontario. Prolonged freezing rain is possible for areas northwest of the Golden Horseshoe and regions along the OttawaValley.

Environment Canada says it's hard to predict exactly when the London area will get snow and when the freezing rain is most likely to begin, until we get closer to tomorrow.

On Sunday, the weather agency expect a day of periods of rain with mild temperatures, in the double digits for some areas. The warmth will be short lived, however. A cold front sweeping across southern Ontario late Sunday will bring a return to cold temperatures, strong winds and flurries.
