A Strathroy man in prison for a string of robberies including a Strathroy jewelry heist has died.
Blackburn News has confirmed the death of Jeffrey Raymond Ysebert at the Warkworth Institution in Campbellford Ontario.
In an email from Correctional Services Canada, Acting Deputy Warden Rob Campney says the 34-year-old was found in need of medical attention in his cell January 6, 2015.
He says emergency services were called and the inmate was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where he was pronounced dead Sunday, January 11 at 7:05am.
Campney says no foul play was involved.
Ysebert was serving a 5 years sentence for Criminal Harrassment, Armed Robbery, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified, Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Motor Vehicle Theft since August, 2013.
He was the subject of a manhunt in the summer of 2012.
Lambton OPP, Strathroy-Caradoc Police, and London Police issued warrants for his arrest following a string of robberies in Watford, St. Marys, London, and at Poag's Jewellers in Strathroy.
Campney says as in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and coroner have been notified and Correctional Services Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
