A London student will soon get a chance to see what it's like to be the chief of police.
Applications are now being taken for this year's Chief for a Day program
All public, Catholic and home schooled students between the ages of 11 and 13 are able to apply.
"It's important to the police service that we engage today's youth as we look towards tomorrow," says Constable Steve Hartwick.
The chosen student will be picked up from home and be involved in a range of activities.
"They'll get a tour of the station, hopefully if there's a K-9 officer available they'll get to meet with them and the emergency response unit, we'll get out and tour the children safety village, grab some lunch at the station, tour the shooting range, then head back to their school," says Hartwick.
Past recipients have been chosen for showing leadership skills in their community.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 1.
