A London man's stickhandling journey across Canada has hit a road block.
Hockey coach Paulie O'Byrne was scheduled to leave on Friday from Victoria on a cross-Canada journey to erase the stigma and raise money for mental illness, sexual abuse, and addiction.
However, organizers say the group's RV isn't ready yet. The group now plans to leave on May 9.

Tour Update... (April 30)O’Byrne has played competitive hockey for 14 years, and after graduating from Lambton College, landed a coaching opportunity in Delhi, Ontario.Tomorrow was the expected start date for the tour. Unfortunately, our RV is awaiting a parking brake cable in order for Paulie to take it on the road across Canada.
We have tentatively moved the start date back to May 9.
This repair of the RV is the only thing holding us back at this point. As soon as we get word from the mechanic, we will post an update.
However, clinical depression, anxiety, drug addiction, suicide attempts and post-traumatic stress derailed his life plan.
Funds raised from the journey will go to the not-for-profit organization 1in5.
It is a dedicated to the one in five Canadians affected by addiction, mental illness, trauma, and victimization.
