New Police Chief Sworn In

John Pare is officially Chief of the London Police Service.

Pare was sworn in at the Change of Command ceremony this morning at the Four Points Sheraton. He was appointed Deputy Chief in 2012 and is a 26-year veteran of the London Police Service.

Pare first started policing in 1987 in LaSalle. Chief Pare is a member of the Ontario Association of Chief of Police Justice Committee and is Chair of the OACP mental Health Working Group.

He graduated from Dalhouise University Police Leadership – Administration program and the FBI National Academy. He has received numerous awards, including the Child Find Ontario – Outstanding Efforts on Behalf of Missing Children Award, the Police Exemplary Service Medal and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Former Chief of Police Brad Duncan retired last week after a 36-year-long career.
