Deadly Year For Motorcyclists

The OPP is reporting 2014 had the highest number of motorcycle fatalities in the last nine years.

A total of 32 bikers lost their lives in crashes on Ontario roads over the course of last year.

OPP say speeding and loss of control is to blame for 14 of the 32 fatalities. Alert and save driving is the number one way to prevent death.

All of those who died were thrown from their bike, which police say is almost a given due to the nature of the vehicle. But, OPP say you can protect yourself by wearing the proper clothing and an approved helmet.

Just this past Friday OPP arrested a motorcycle driver for travelling 70km/h over the speed limit on Hwy. 401 in the London area.
