City Moving Forward With Dundas Place Project

Dundas St. will be transformed into a flex street on Saturday as the city launches 'My Dundas.'

Dundas will be closed between Richmond and Talbot this Saturday from 10am-5pm.

The My Dundas event will showcase how the street can be transformed into a community hub and tourist destination, with arts and craft vendors, food trucks, live music, entertainment and shopping.

Gehl Studios will be hosting a series of workshops to discuss what the future of "Dundas Place" will look like.

There are two live shows featuring London's Ivory Hours and Sarah Smith. There will be a screening of The Human Scale in Fanshawe's Black Box Theatre and a world record attempt. Those who run the Maker Bus are looking to get 2,000 Londoners to join hands to form the world's largest human circuit.

Council is taking steps to transform Dundas St. into a flex street, meaning parts of it would be shut down for summer festivals, concerts and events. The flex street is part of the Downtown Plan. Council set aside $1.3-million this year to get the ball rolling on an environmental assessment.
