The Western Fair will close out its 10-day run with sunshine and summer-like temperatures that are sure to help drive people through the gates.
In its final weekend, the 143rd edition of the fair will see the second demolition derby take place, a performance by Bandaloni, a goat yoga demonstration, duck and pig racing, magic shows, and the midway rides in motion.
In the Metroland Media Agriplex, those looking to get in touch with the area's rich agricultural roots can take in the Western horse show, draft horse hitching, milking demonstrations, and pet Vinny & Stella - a pair of Nigerian dwarf goats.
Traditional fair food including corn dogs, cotton candy, caramel corn, and elephant ears will be plentiful throughout the grounds. However, fairgoers who prefer a more unique culinary experience can head to the 'I Love Local' tent for locally sourced food provided by local small producers. Some of those eats include Ontario grass-fed beef burgers, perch po' boy sandwiches, Hayters Farms smoked turkey wings, and fried cheesecake.
While the weather that marked the start of the fair was less than ideal with rain and cool temperatures, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday promises partly sunny skies and highs of 27 C. With the humidity it will feel more like the mid-30s both days.
