Search for missing man leads police to Tillsonburg home

As the search for a missing Oxford County man enters its third month, provincial police appear to have found some clues inside a Tillsonburg home.

Oxford OPP officers investigating the disappearance of 41-year-old James Edward Blakley gathered evidence related to the case from inside a Verna Drive home on Monday. Items collected by police will undergo analysis at a later date.

Blakley has been missing since August 30 and his disappearance is considered suspicious, police said.

The South West Oxford Township man was last seen getting into a cab outside of his Brownsville Road home around 2 p.m. on August 30. The cab is believed to have been headed toward the Tillsonburg area.

Police stress that even though they are gathering evidence, Blakley is still only considered to be missing.

Blakley is described as a white male, about 6'2'', 200 pounds, with light reddish-blonde hair. He has a scar on his forehead.

The Oxford County OPP major crime unit and west region criminal operations branch continue to investigate. They are asking anyone with information about Blakely's whereabouts are asked to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
