Oakridge teacher accused of sexual exploitation

A London high school teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student is now facing sexual exploitation charges.

London police received allegations about the relationship between the Oakridge Secondary School teacher and a teenager last Thursday. That prompted an investigation by members of the service's sexual assault and child abuse section.

Dustin Epp, 45, of London was arrested a day later. He is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a young person.

A statement from the Thames Valley District School Board said Epp has been removed from the classroom.

“The teacher was immediately suspended pending the results of the police investigation," the statement said. "Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service. Students with any concerns are asked to contact school administration. Thames Valley will not comment further on personnel matters.”

He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charge on March 3.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
