Police looking for 'suspicious' van driver

A 19-year-old woman was left a little shaken after being approached by a man in a van while walking in St. Thomas.

The woman was on South Edgeware Road around 8 a.m. on Wednesday when a silver cube van pulled up alongside her. The male driver asked the woman her name before she took off into a nearby store, St. Thomas police said.

The man left the area shortly after.

Police consider the incident to be suspicious.

The man is described as white, in his mid-30s, average height, with short scruffy whiskers. The van is believed to have the word "drywall" written on its side.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
