Police investigating two fatal motorcycle collisions

Two people are dead after separate motorcycles crashes in London that happened less than 12 hours apart.

London police said they were called to the intersection of Highbury Avenue and Dingman Drive around 1:45 p.m. Sunday. According to police, a motorcycle crashed, claiming the life of the 30-year-old woman who was driving it.

Then, around 12:45 a.m. on Monday, emergency crews responded to the area of Poplar Crescent and Jalna Boulevard, where a motorcycle and a vehicle collided. The 22-year-old man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crashes, but are again reminding drivers of the importance of being aware of their surroundings.

“As the weather warms, we encourage all motorists to be on the look-out for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycles,” said Sgt. Sean Harding, head of the LPS Traffic Management Unit. “Please slow down and pay attention as these groups are more vulnerable using the roadways than others.”

Anyone with information in relation to these incidents is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
