A single case of COVID-19 has been linked to a public school in Woodstock.
The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) announced on Monday evening that a positive case of the virus has been confirmed at Central Public School.
The school board says all staff, parents and guardians of the affected school communities were immediately notified.
"If you do not receive a letter from Thames Valley indicating the public health unit has identified your child as a close contact, your child is not considered to be at risk. Only those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact will be notified and advised to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days," the TVDSB said.
Currently, the case at Central Public School is the only active case within the Thames Valley school district.
Elementary school students in the London area returned to classrooms on Monday for in-person learning for the first time since mid-December. High school students will resume classes on Thursday.
In early January, the province announced schools would carry on with their studies remotely following the winter break with the exception of students with special needs who were permitted to continue with in-person learning.
