Public health officials in London are looking to hire for several positions at various COVID-19 vaccination sites across the city.
With more doses of the vaccine expected to arrive soon, and the province's expansion announcement for those eligible to book their second doses, the Middlesex London Health Unit (MLHU) says it will require some extra hands to get the job done.
The health unit plans to hire clinical supervisors and managers, along with vaccinators, registered nurses and administrative staff to assist at mass vaccination sites as well as community-based mobile clinic sites.
"Additional staff members are now needed to continue the work of delivering vaccine doses at fixed clinic sites and enhancing mobile clinic capacity which will allow for more community clinics to the region," a release from the health unit read.
To support what the health unit says is an urgent need to hire, the MLHU added that it's able to arrange temporary, four-to-six month rotations with external health agencies should candidates wish to stay connected with their current employer.
London is currently vaccinating around 4,000 people per day. The health unit hopes to exceed this number once all the positions are filled.
“With the diverse needs in our community, we want to add more mobile community clinic vaccination capacity so that we can go to where the people need us. In order to do that, we need to hire a team of qualified professionals to support these ongoing vaccination efforts in our community," said Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Chris Mackie.
