Health Unit reports 11 new COVID-19 cases

Another 11 cases of COVID-19 were added to the total in London and Middlesex County on Thursday.

The 11 new cases being the total since the start of the pandemic to 14,593. Of those, 14,258 are considered resolved. No deaths were reported Thursday, so the London-ara death toll remains at 246.

There are currently 89 active cases in London and Middlesex County.

The London Health Sciences Centre says it is caring for nine COVID-19 patients. Five or fewer are in intensive care. The hospital uses the “five or fewer” figure when the number of patients get low enough that giving an exact number might compromise patient privacy. None of the patients in intensive care are in Children's Hospital.

In Elgin and Oxford counties, the health unit did not report its latest numbers on Thursday, as Southwestern Public Health was closed to mark Remembrance Day.

Ontario reported 643 new cases on Thursday. The report marked the highest number of new cases in a month. The seven-day average of new cases is now at 532.

Four deaths deaths were reported, bringing Ontario’s COVID-19 death toll to 9,916.
