Huron Warden Not Interested In Western Warden's Broadband Initiative

Huron County's Warden says joining the rest of the Western Warden's in their effort to bring broadband connectivity to local rural communities is going to be an expensive proposition.

Joe Steffler explains Huron County is already well-served by local providers and is not interested in having Rogers or Bell move in at this stage. The Western Wardens have said they would meet with providers like Tuckersmith, Hurontel and Hay Communications, but so far have only met with Bell and Rogers.

Steffler says the cost to each county is 75-thousand dollars a year for each of the next five years and he's not prepared to bring the proposal back to County Council until the Western Warden's Caucus meets with local providers takes place.
