Huron Helps Southwest Economic Alliance

Huron County has been asked to play a major role in the transition of the Southwest Economic Alliance.

Current SWEA Chair and former Goderich Deputy Mayor John Grace explains President Serge Lavoie has announced his intention to retire at the end of January.

Huron County has agreed to help SWEA get through what will be a difficult time, and set new goals and a new direction going forward.

Grace says, "Huron County staff will help review SWEA's mission and also give us some guidance.  We're going to have a hard look at what SWEA would look like over the next few years, and what success will look like for the membership."
Grace adds SWEA covers an area from Windsor to Guelph and as far north as Tobermory. Membership from that area will come together, and with the help of Huron County staff, determine what they want SWEA to look like in the future and how they would define success in the next few years.
