New Rogers Tower Going Up in Bluewater

Bluewater council approved an application for a Roger's telecommunications tower in the south end of the municipality, west of highway 21.Mayor Tyler Hessel explains the approval is really a formality since the placement of the tower doesn't fall under municipal jurisdiction, so it would have gone ahead with or without the support of council.

Hessel adds council supports it because there are Rogers customers in Bluewater who will get better service as a result of the tower.

Hessel also stated that there were some concerns about possible interference with the tower from wind turbines.  One councillor suggested it would be up to Rogers to work that out with the wind energy companies.
