MPAC Office In Goderich Closing

Goderich is losing its Municipal Property Assessment Corporation office.

Huron County C-A-O Brenda Orchard says MPAC is phasing out several offices throughout the Province over the next few years to reduce costs.   It will close the Goderich office in April of 2017, with staff moving to either London or Kitchener.

Orchard explains MPAC currently occupies the bottom floor of the county planning building in Goderich. MPAC has asked the County to provide an office and parking space that would allow an MPAC employee to still work in Goderich one or two days a week.   They are looking at space upstairs in the planning office.

Orchard points out that would still provide some service and would probably mean a very busy two days as opposed to a normal week.   She expects people could schedule their week to accommodate those one or two days.
