Kincardine Refugee Committee Attracts Strong Interest

The Kincardine Refugee Committee is off to a strong start. The group is raising funds to bring at least one refugee family to the Kincardine area, and support them for a year. That will cost at least $27,000. not including a contribution from the government. The group has set up a facebook page for anyone interested in helping out. Several local churches are part of the effort. About 150 people turned out to a meeting last week at Kincardine Knox Presbyterian Church. Spokesperson Jennie Scott says anyone is welcome to donate household supplies, housing and storage space, time, English language support, clothing & diapers, driving, health services, or money.
