With snow squalls and frigid temperatures moving into the region, Environment Canada says the mercury is about to drop even further.
"We have cold weather on the way this weekend so another push of cold air coming in so we'll have really, really cold temperatures," says Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Marie-Eve Giguere.
In fact, this will make it the coldest we've seen so far this winter season.
"We will probably reach a windchill of about -30 C or -35 C or maybe below that," says Giguere. "That will lead to even more snow squalls over the weekend and very cold temperatures."
Precision Weather Meteorologist Russ Murley is predicting up to 30 cm of snow in the next 24 to 36 hours for some parts of Midwestern Ontario, depending on how the lake-effect squalls line up.
