Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says she questions why Bill 100 regarding snowmobile trails on farmers property was ever enacted.
Speaking at yesterday's Meet the Members event hosted by the Huron Federation of Agriculture, Thompson pointed out farmers have been allowing snowmobile trails on their property for years without any serious problems so she wonders what purpose the bill serves.
Thompson says her main concern with the bill is its lack of clarity and how that could impact on the rights of the property owner to permit or not permit trails on their property.
Thompson says she and the critic for Sports, Tourism and Culture have approached the minister with amendments to the bill that would address property right concerns.
Thompson says her objective is that the bill makes it clear that voluntary means voluntary.
Members of both the Huron, Perth and Bruce Federations of Agriculture as well as Huron County municipal politicians attended yesterday's Meet the Members event in Clinton.
