OPP Watching For Aggressive Driving In Vacation Areas

The OPP will be watching for excessive speeders in vacation hot spots in the area.

Bruce Peninsula OPP Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Wayne Thompson says speeds in excess of 150 km/h in 80 km/h zones are unwelcome but are becoming more frequent.

The OPP is taking a zero tolerance to excessive speeding on the heels of the fatal crash that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man last weekend.

Speeding isn't the only problem.

There have been a number of incidents involving traffic passing when there is a solid line, road rage and following too close.

The four factors of injury and death on highways remain distracted driving, impaired driving, aggressive driving and not wearing seat belts.
