Peterborough Woman On Walking Mission to Kincardine

Peterborough, ON resident Marnie Keller is on a mission.

For Keller, walking is a common thing but now, she's taking it to the next level. Keller suffers from anxiety and depression and now she's walking more than 340 kilometres from Peterborough to Kincardine in an effort to raise funds and awareness over the next almost two weeks.

She told CKNX that it;s just something she had to do, following her last bout of depression which saw her cooped up in a room for days at a time.

She chose Kincardine as her destination for a special reason: family.

"My son and his girlfriend and my granddaughter live in Kincardine and I haven't seen them for a bit, so that was my decision on where I was going," says Keller.

Keller says she plans to walk roughly 25 to 30 kilometres a day and estimates the walk, which is just over 340 kilometres, will take at least eleven or twelve days.

Some of the money raised during the walk will be donated to the Canadian Association for Mental Health (CAMH).

Keller has created a Facebook Page where she posts daily updates of her walk from Peterborough to Kincardine.
