Mitchell and Walkerton Earn Wins in PJHL's Pollock Division

Mitchell 4 Kincardine 1

The Mitchell Hawks scored three unanswered goals in the third to break open a tie game and beat Kincardine 4-1.

Nathan Templeman opened the scoring for Mitchell in the first period assisted by Jake Finlayson and Derek Elliot.

Tyler Fregona answered for the Bulldogs in the second assisted by Jesse Gunn and Hunter Robins-Gibbons.

Less than a minute into the final period, Quinten Haddock scored what would be the game winner on the powerplay assisted by Blake Pickering and MacKinnon Hawkins.

Tyler Pauli added insurance at 4:17 and Drew Gross scored on the empty net with just 68 seconds on the clock.

Mitchell outshot Kincardine 37-22. Wyatt Nicholson earned the win with 21 saves.

Walkerton 5 Goderich 1

Walkerton scored four goals in the first period to down the Goderich Flyers 5-1.

The Flyers' Brandon Bean was replaced less than 8 minutes into the game after allowing four goals on 10 shots.

Conner Patton scored on the powerplay just 28 seconds into the first period. Reid Simmons scored less than a minute later to put the Hawks up 2-0.

Lauchlin Elder extended the Hawks' lead with goal at 4:30. Jordan Caskenette scored shorthanded at 7:48 of the opening frame to put the Hawks up 4-0.

Elder scored his second goal of the game to open the second period.  Keegan Martinec and Conner Patton assisted Elder for the second time during the game.

Logan Kellington scored the Flyers' lone goals of 6:17 of the third.

Walkerton outshot Goderich 39-20.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
