UPDATE: Snow Squall Watch Still in Effect for Some Areas

Though much of the snow has moved out of the area, portions of midwestern Ontario could still see snow squalls going into Sunday evening.

A snow squall warning remains in effect for the Bruce Peninsula, Sauble Beach to Tobermony, while a snow squall watch has been issued by Environment Canada for these areas:

  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Southern Bruce County including Saugeen Shores and Kincardine
A potential for additional snow squalls remains tonight, developing off Lake Huron, according to Environment Canada.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
