Hanover police, along with the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit, Saugeen Shores police, and West Grey police have made a number of arrests following drug busts in Hanover and Durham.
On December 15, police served a search warrant at a residence in the 500-block of 11th Ave.in Hanover. Four women, two men, and one young male suspect were taken into custody.
Police also found six children ranging in age from infants to 14 years old, and put them in the care of Bruce-Grey Child and Family Services.
On December 16, another search was conducted at a residence in the 200-block of Countess St. in Durham. Police seized a quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl and heroin for the purposes of trafficking along with a small quantity of marijuana. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at $6,000.
Police also seized drug trafficking equipment, prohibited weapons, money counters, body armour, and other related property along with approximately $16,500 in Canadian currency. A Durham man was taken into custody.
This investigation is still active and may result in further charges.
In a news release, the Hanover Police Service states that this investigation and the subsequent arrests will disrupt the flow of illicit drugs in many communities across Grey-Bruce and beyond.
