Florida conference hears from Victim Services Huron executive director

The executive director of Victim Services Huron recently spoke at a conference in Jacksonville, Florida about experiences with human trafficking in Huron County.

Deborah Logue spoke at the 44th annual National Organization of Victim Advocates Conference last month.

She said many attendees thanked the Huron group for bringing what she called the "hidden aspect of Human Trafficking to the forefront". Logue was asked to share her presentation with five other U.S. sites.

"I knew Deborah would do well with her presentation on Rural Human Trafficking. This is a subject she is passionate about and is focused on spreading awareness," said Victim Services Huron County Board Chair Jim Dietrich.

The training event attracted over 1,800 attendees, which acknowledged the work of crime victim advocates, crisis responders, sexual assault and domestic violence advocates, prosecutors, judges, social workers and other allied professionals.

Victim Services Huron is dedicated to providing short-term emotional support, practical assistance and community referrals to victims of crime, trauma and tragic circumstances in partnership with community and emergency services.
